OUR AREA

The area of ​​Computational Biology and Bioinformatics is responsible for developing mathematical algorithms and models to facilitate the understanding of biological processes and make use of the applications generated through information technology for the analysis and understanding of them.

FUNCTIONS

  • Planning design and implementation of software and bioinformatics algorithms for analysis of biological systems.
  • Application of problem solving techniques, scientific method and mathematics in the design and analysis of biological systems.
  • Development and implementation of statistical analysis and quality control in the management of high volumes of biological information.
  • Creation and application of statistical and computational tools for the analysis of biological data.

CURRENT PROJECTS

The present project aims to generate an area of bioinformatics at INIA, which will strengthen research using bioinformatics as its main tool.
